Tony Carella

A graduate in Honours Modern History from the University of Toronto, Tony is a writer, editor and teacher by profession. He also has experience in small business (magazine publishing), the corporate world (with Loblaws Limited), and prior public service (as a special assistant to Greg Sorbara, MPP). He has been the councillor from Ward 2/Woodbridge West for a total of ten years (1994-97, 2003-present).

Top five priorities:

  1. A hospital in  Vaughan
  2. The extension of the 427 to Major Mackenzie Drive
  3. The completion of the Spadina subway extension into Vaughan
  4. A more sustainable city, through the implementation of the sustainability plan that was adopted by this council last year, part of the City’s overall growth management strategy
  5. Keeping residential taxes as low as possible, commensurate with the levels of service our citizens want and enjoy.
