Quick rundown: Who will rule in Vaughan? You decided

Here is a quick run-down of your results in Vaughan. We will catch up with winners and other candidates today and tomorrow. (All vote tallies are unofficial until verified by the city later this week.)

Mayor: Maurizio Bevilacqua sailed into victory with 45,o49. After a tumultuous term Linda Jackson received 10,166, with Mario Racco close behind at 10,134.

Regional council: Just as we suspected, we see some change on regional council. This race was a tough one to call as numbers began to stream in. In the end, Gino Rosati held onto his seat with 21,282 votes. Michael DiBiase was elected with 20,667 and Deb Schulte received 20,592 votes, making her the third person elected to regional council. Mario Ferri lost his seat after garnering 20,146 and Joyce Frustaglio says goodbye to her spot as well, having received only 18,331, just behind Robert Craig who got 18,359.

Ward 1: Marilyn Iafrate ousted Peter Meffe from council. She got 5,793 votes to his 5,698.

Ward 2: Tony Carella held on in Woodbridge – he received 5,954 votes to second place Nick Pinto’s 5,833. Youngster Daniel Salvatore showed well – he finished with 3,673 (and he’s in his early 20s)

Ward 3: This one was down to the wire, incumbent not included: Rosanna DeFrancesca pulled ahead as the last poll numbers came in. She wins the seat with 5,003 to second place Steven Del Duca’s 4,787. Bernie DiVona loses the seat – he got just 3,065 votes.

Ward 4: Sandra Racco easily hangs on to her seat. Second place is Styles Weinberg.

Ward 5: Alan Shefman easily hangs on to his seat. Second place is Gila Martow.
